According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, it is uncertain whether Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will be able to play in the team’s Week 17 matchup against the New Orleans Saints due to a sprained shoulder.
Hurts has already been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys and is dealing with a sprain in the SC joint of his throwing shoulder.
The Eagles will consider Hurts’ availability for the Saints game based on the outcome of Saturday’s game and how the NFC playoff picture develops, as well as the response of Hurts’ injury to treatment.
If the Eagles lose to the Cowboys on Saturday, Hurts may attempt to play through the injury.
Hurts has had an exceptional season and is a candidate for the MVP award, setting career highs in completion percentage (67.3%), passing yards (3,472), passing touchdowns (22), and passer rating (104.6). He has also contributed 13 rushing touchdowns.
Gardner Minshew will start in Hurts’ place against the Cowboys.
